iPad and DE Streaming

Discovery Education just announced their iPad web app today.

When asked about the DE Science K-8 assets. They responded:
There are video from the K-8 Science products available on the iPad now.  Over the coming months we will have all DE Science assets with the exception of those like Interactive Videos, Labs, and eBooks which are only available in Flash format which iPad doesn't support.  We're working on a long-term plan for the Flash assets. 

Trouble-Shooting Tips

Determine if it is a :

• Hardware issue
• Check all cables/connectors/adaptors
• Software issue
• Quit out of every application that is open and try to run just the one software program.
• Restart the computer
• If using a CD, make sure it is compatible with your computer.
• i.e. is it for Mac or WIN
• What Operating System does it require?  
• Check for Software Updates
• Internet issue
• Check your connection
• are you connected wirelessly or with an ethernet cable
• Can you connect using a different computer?
• sometimes the problem is with the website.

Force Quit:  Hold down Option/Command/Esc Keys at the same time

Pic-Lits Inspired Picture Writing

Just came across this tool (you can link to it under "Favorite Sites" on the right hand side) and I love it! It looks like something for students (and adults) of all ages could use! I have set up a generic account for the Elementary students I will be using this with. Let me know if you are interested and I will give you the information or you can easily set up your own account. It took me all of about 15 minutes to go through all the tabs and play with it a little. I am hooked! I could see this being used:

• for simple noun/verb sentences
• descriptive sentences
• creative journaling
• poetry
